Rabbitbrush (sunflower family)

This a very pretty plant that needs very little care. A bit of water every two weeks in hot weather. You may want to trim it back in the spring to help keep its shape in good looking order. It gets about 4' high and wide. If you have ever been to Albuquerque, NM, you have seen it along the street there. Plant it around your Desert Willow tree. This is a very pretty tree that flowers September to November. It only needs water 2-3 times a month to help keep the flowers blooming. Enjoy your yard!!

Tired of mowing??

Why not use native grasses in your yard and/or landscape? Blue grama grass is beautiful. You can mow or not mow it. Buffalo grass is another great grass. It looks like a mat in your yard. And it doesn't have to be mowed. How about using groundcovers instead of grass? There are several varieties of thyme that will work. And they flower! Now, you choose... and enjoy!

Let's go native in New Mexico

Hello, I am new to this and am just setting up. Please be patient. I would like to let others know about using plants that use less water and take less care but are still very wonderful to have in their yards. For year round beauty, an evergreen or four should offset the winter doldrums as well as provide for the habitat. I spray mine down and love to smell their fragrance.
