Desert-willow


This a nice and very drought tolerant tree. It has pink to lavendar and white flowers from April through September. It will bloom with extra watering once a week. Hummingbirds like the flowers and birds will eats the seed pods in the winter.Desert-willow can get 15' wide and 20' tall. It is good for a habitat garden.

Desert Senna


Desert senna can be seen growing along the highways and in the fields. It is very hardy and requires very little water. It can survive in the driest of climates. Occasion watering once a week will keep the flowers in bloom. It has a gray-green look and becomes woody with age. It gets about 1 1/2' tall with a 2' spread. Planting these in mass quantities gives you a very showy look in any rock garden.

Shrubby Dogweed (sunflower family)

Shrubby dogweed branches from a woody base which forms an evergreen subshrub. It has a spicy fragrance when touched. It has bright yellow flowers from April to October.This a very easy palnt to have around. It doesn't require any special soil nor does it require supplemental water but once a month. It is great for a cactus garden. A must have for sunflower lovers.

Flattop buckwheat

This an evergreen shrub that is about 1 1/2' high by 2' wide.This plant blooms white or pale pink flowers from March to November. It enjoys lots of sun and will only need water a couple of time a month after it is established. It would do well in a rock garden.

Apache Plume (rose family)



This is another good shrub with low maintenance. The seed tails are very showy and look like feathers that are pink or purple. They tend to resemble an Apache headdress.They bloom from May to Sept. It does spread by rhizomes to a height of6' high by 4' wide. It likes to be in full sun and extra water twice a month helps keep it flowering. Thanks for your time.
